Spring Weekend

A Guest Lecturer is invited to give a weekend of lectures on Beekeeping each year in the Spring. This event takes place on Friday evening, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon of the chosen weekend. It is open to beekeepers from all associations.

Munster Agricultural Show

The Association provides a stand at the Munster Agricultural Show in Ballintemple each year where information about Beekeeping in general and of the association's activities is presented. Honey is also presented for sale by members.

Belgooly Agricultural Show

In year 2006, a stand was manned at Belgooly Agricultural Show. Honeybees were displayed in an observation hive and information about the association and beekeeping in general was also available.

Gormanston Course

A delegation from the Association attends the annual conference of the Federation of Irish Beekeepers' Associations at the Annual Summer Course in Gormanston College Co. Meath in July. More information on the Gormanston Conference can be accessed on various web sites that are accessible via links on this page.

Adult Education Exhibition

A stand is manned at the Cork Adult Education's Exhibition at City Hall in early September where information about Beekeeping and the forthcoming Beginners' Course is on offer.

Beginners Course

A Course of instruction in the craft of Beekeeping is held each year in October at Cork Institute of Technology, Bishopstown.

Annual Honey Show

The County Cork Association joins with East Cork Beekeepers' Association to arrange the Annual Honey Show at Fota each year. The show is held in the Education Centre adjoining the entrance to the Wild Life Park and takes place on the first weekend of October. It is open to the public from 2 pm to 4.30 pm on that Sunday.

South Tipperary Honey Show

Members also travel to Clonmel for the South Tipperary Beekeepers' Association's Annual honey show. This usually takes place in September.

London Honey Show

Members travel to the British Beekeepers' National Honey Show in London each year in October and figure prominently amongst the prizewinners there.
