Seminar on Acarine with Dr. John McMullan Spring 2009

Over the past two winters there have been high colony losses. Last winter our Association took samples from colonies that had just died and these were diagnosed with high levels of Acarine Mite. We are conscious that this mite is prevalent in many areas of the south and west of the county, so this Spring we aim to make all beekeepers in the area aware of the disease and how it can be overcome. To this end we are holding a one day seminar on 21st March and are fortunate that John McMullan PhD of TCD, has undertaken to be our guest lecturer. John has published a number of scientific papers on this subject and is a practical beekeeper with extensive experience of the problem. We hope that you will put aside Saturday 21st March to learn how to combat this bee-killer ! Lectures in CIT, Bishopstown, Cork. Directions here
